IRS is now sending Debit cards (in lieu of checks) for the Economic Impact Payment.
I've heard from several people in the past 2 days that the debit card is hitting our area and is confusing. It appears to be junk mail (credit card solicitation) so some people have actually destroyed it not realizing what it is. If you have not received your payment yet - please be alert to this. If you think you have destroyed your card in error - you can call the IRS @1-800-240-8100 for a replacement. If you can find the original letter - there is an ID number on the letter that will help the IRS to verify you and replace the card.
The link below provides Q&A surrounding the payments - it has been a challenging process to say the least.

Also - if you have received a payment in error - (for a deceased taxpayer etc), there are procedures for returning them - please see Q55 on the link above if this applies to you.
As always - if you have any further questions - please do not hesitate to reach out.
